When it comes to delays and cancellations and the reasons for those flight disruptions, most passengers are treated on a need to know basis.
If we need to know, the airline doesn’t really tell us.
Now, at least one airline has decided that we can indeed handle the truth.
United Airlines is no longer just sending you an alert that your flight is delayed or cancelled, but it’s sharing specific details as to why with frequently updated texts and messages, even live radar maps.
And United Airlines front-line staff will get those same messages about three minutes before passengers so they can actually react and adjust effectively when travelers call for a Plan B.
It may not get you where you’re going on time, but at least you now may know the real reasons why.
