Airport Codes You Might Not Expect

Three letter airport codes can often be confusing, misleading, or in some cases, downright hilarious.

When checking your luggage, always look at the tag the agent puts on your bag before it goes on the conveyor belt.

MAD doesn’t mean Madison, Wisconsin. It means Madrid. Madison is MSN.

And CHA is not Charleston. That’s Chattanooga. Charleston is CHS.

Want a laugh? Fresno is FAT. My favorite is Sioux City, Iowa, which proudly claims this three letter airport code: SUX.
