My philosophy is that the larger the hotel room, the easier it is to lose your stuff and simply forget it while checking out.

So here are two of my favorite hacks to avoid that.

Always travel with a power strip.

First, there are still too few electrical outlets in most hotel rooms, and the power strip will come in handy.

This way, you plug in all your electronic stuff into one power strip. And by having all your stuff plugged into only one outlet, you’re less likely to leave chargers in different outlets when you check out.

And second, if you use the hotel safe, put one of your shoes in it. That will remind you to open the safe before leaving.
