Joy writes, “I wanted to submit my photo of the Washington DC cherry blossoms around the Jefferson Memorial. As the trees are nearly at peak bloom, the light pink flowers are a breathtaking sight to see!” She continues, “Also, the US National Parks Service announced that about 150 of Washington, DC’s famous cherry trees will be removed this spring after the festival, in order to repair a crumbling sea wall. That means this year will be the last time to see this many trees in all their glory!”
