The travel experience these days has been overrun with apps and QR codes, and just because a travel company or tour operator has an app, doesn’t mean it’s especially helpful, efficient or fast.
According to the latest US travel app satisfaction study, J.D. Power measured customer satisfaction with digital channels of airlines, hotels and rental cars.
Airlines scored the lowest. Hotels and rental cars did better. But of the airlines, the three top apps went to Alaska Airlines, Southwest and JetBlue.
For hotels, Hyatt, Choice and Hilton ranked the best.
And for rental cars, it went to National, Alamo and Enterprise. My recommendation for travel apps follows a longstanding foreign policy approach: trust, but verify, as in have a conversation with the travel provider before making a decision.
