If you’re like me, you think there may be two types of airline baggage — carry-on and lost.
Let’s take a look at the numbers. There were 1.4 million mishandled or lost bags in the first half of 2023.
So which airline did the best or the least, worst job, of not mishandling bags?
For the first half of this year, that award goes to Allegiant Airlines and it has kept that ranking for the fourth straight year.
One possible reason is because Allegiant charges for checked bags, so more of its passengers fly with just carry-on.
Endeavor and Southwest, which doesn’t charge for checked bags, also performed well.
So who came in last?
American Airlines finished last.
