At most hotels where I stay, I have no idea how to operate the thermostat in the room, which is either way too hot or inducing pneumonia.

And I’m not there long enough to secure the engineering degree to operate that thermostat. And there doesn’t seem to be a way to effectively override that little box on the wall.

But there is a way. Hold down the display button, then press the on/off button, release it and then hit the up arrow.

When you see the VIP symbol, you now have total control over the thermostat and you can heat or cool the room to the temperature you want.
