Eye on Travel

Eye on Travel — February 11, 2023

This week’s broadcast of Eye on Travel is from The Peninsula Hotel in Chicago. I’ll have all the latest travel updates and the latest on how you can help Turkey and Syria after the tragic earthquake, with a death toll that has surpassed 24,000. We’ll also take a deep immersion into Chicago, starting with Dr. Voula Saridakis, Curator of Collections at the Museum of Science and Industry — one of my favorite museums (check out the original U-Boat). But then there’s the new SpaceX exhibit and the immersive Blue Paradox, that sheds light on the almost exponential growth of plastics in the ocean. Tim Samuelson, Cultural Historian Emeritus, speaks on the friendly ballpark experiences at Wrigley Field and participates in the age-old thin slice/deep dish pizza argument. Nora Gainer of the Art Institute with some surprises. And then, in honor of Black History Month, I’ll also talk with Doris Crenshaw, Civil Rights Icon and Rosa Parks protege, as she reflects on her 67 years of advocacy and how the continuous debate on equality issues today extends beyond what you might expect. There’s all this and more from The Peninsula Hotel in Chicago on this week’s Eye on Travel
