Airport Growth: The Great Migration

In this post-pandemic world, we’ve seen the “Great Migration“.  And one way to measure that is by which U.S. airports have grown the most and where airlines have added the most flights and seats.

Translation: these are the airports in cities where more people are moving to live.

The big winner is Austin, Texas, which is up more than 48%, followed by Nashville, Maui, Charleston and Ontario, California.

And what about the airports that have lost the most seats and flights?

There are some surprises. Milwaukee is down 22%, followed by Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Fort Myers and San Francisco.
