How to Track Air Quality

Travelers are always concerned about weather at their destination.

But what about the quality of the air we breathe? There are now a number of apps that let us monitor the air wherever we go, and they can check for the normal pollutants — carbon monoxide and chemicals from nearby factories as well as wildfire smoke.

Weather is the app built in on Apple devices and it now displays the local air quality index.

EPA AirNow is a free government run app that not only measures the air quality but also offers recommendations about limiting outdoor activities.

And BreezoMeter actually forecasts the levels of about 40 different air pollutants, and even includes three day in advance pollen forecasts.
