It’s the holiday season and one traditional and confusing travel subject always resurfaces. Are you a good tipper? Do you even tip at all?

In a recent study, it turns out the answers differ, based on age.

Apparently, 88% of baby boomer travelers always tip.

And the numbers go down from there. Only 80% of Gen X tips, and only 58% of millennials will leave something. And only 56% of Gen Z folks will leave a tip.

So…here’s my tip. With so many of America’s travel work force depending on tips for a majority of their incomes, and with so many staff shortages in travel, if you’re given good service on your next trip, please budget accordingly and reward the server for it.
