Thousands of Americans who purchased future airline flights, hotels and tours now find themselves unable to get full refunds from those travel providers.

In some cases, tour operators have gone out of business and shut their doors forever.

But if you paid for your trip with a credit card, help is on the way.

Under the Federal Credit Act, welcome to something called Regulation Z, which provides you with a refund if you paid with a credit card and didn’t receive the service within two billing cycles.

Even better, there’s something called the Visa and Mastercard network policy. If your trip was cancelled, you are entitled to get a full refund in a 120-day time frame, and that time is calculated in your favor — from the date you became aware that the company went out of business.
