If you make reservations online, you’ll often see hotel rates with the note, “Only two rooms available at this price.” This is the same for airline seats.
The problem is that those notes really mean the website was allocated a certain number of rooms or seats and it’s referring to the allocations, not the total number of rooms or seats at the hotel or on the plane.
Always call the hotel or airline directly if you really want to know availability.
When you have that conversation, you might just discover you can make a better deal directly.
