What To Do With Your Unused Foreign Currency

This scene happens all too often. You’ve finished your vacation overseas and are heading home. What’s in your pocket?

Do you have unused foreign currency — bills and coins? If you’re like most travelers, you wait until the airport to convert them back to U.S. dollars. You then get an unfavorable exchange rate and lose money in the process.

But there’s a better way. And you do it before you leave your hotel.

When checking out, simply take all that unused currency and use it to pay part of your hotel bill, and then pay the remainder with your credit card. Then, there’s no waiting in line at the airport, and you haven’t lost money in the process.
