Travel Tip: Most Expensive Cities to See a Movie

Whenever I travel, I try to go to the movies–especially abroad.

But moviegoing abroad is also a great metric to figure out how expensive the rest of your stay will be.

What’s the most expensive city to see movies? That’s Zurich. Seeing a movie in the Swiss city will run you nearly $19.

Coming in second is London, which will run you $17 a ticket, and that’s followed by Norway at around $16.

In the United States, New York tends to be just as expensive with an average of nearly $16 a ticket. Chicago, Boston and San Francisco are similarly expensive.

Want the most inexpensive movie night out? Head to Indonesia and Jakarta–its capital city. Movies there are just $3.60, which is a great money deal and a great cultural one as well.
