Travel Tip: Are More U.S. Citizens Moving Abroad?

The United States may be a nation of immigrants, but more U.S. citizens are now moving abroad.

Last year, a record number of U.S. citizens renounced their citizenship and left. That’s a 40% increase from 2016! Talk about traveling abroad; permanently. So where are these U.S. citizens going? The United Kingdom now hosts 190,000 U.S. born immigrants. One possible reason is no language barrier.

The second biggest country with Americans is Canada–306,000 have proclaimed Canada as their new home.

And the most popular destination among American immigrants might surprise you. It’s Mexico. A whopping 899,000 Americans are now residing there and something tells me they’re definitely not in favor of a wall.
