Travel Tip: On-Time Arrival Ratings for Domestic Airlines

The most recent reports are in, and U.S. airlines had their highest on-time arrival rates in eight years.

The data was released in November, and the U.S. Department of Transportation reports that there were also the fewest canceled flights.

Leading the pack with the highest on-time arrival rates was Delta, with 93.7 percent of flights arriving on time.

One surprise was Spirit, which came in with 89.8 percent on-time arrivals.

In third place was Hawaiian Airlines, with 89.3 percent.

Which airlines had the lowest on-time arrival percentages?

Alaska and Virgin, which are soon becoming one airline.

On the other hand, 2017 ranked as one of the worst years for airline customer relations, and complaints about general airline service increased a whopping 27 percent.

Translation: While the majority of your flights may have been on time, a growing number of us didn’t arrive happy.
