Last but not least, it’s a no-brainer that Cuba will be a hot destination for 2016. But I’m making this pick conditionally.

Yes, the U.S. just concluded an agreement with the Cuban government to restore commercially scheduled flights between the two countries. But don’t expect that to happen immediately. What WILL happen, in May, is that Fathom, the new brand from Carnival (a small, intimate ship), will be cruising to Cuba as part of a people-to-people approved itinerary from the U.S. State Department and the Department of Commerce.

The time to go is now—before the mega ships show up and exhaust local resources and prices in Cuba get out of control.
