Hotel loyalty programs are free, and most people earn points by staying at the hotel or using a branded credit card.
But you might be surprised to learn about other ways you can earn hotel loyalty points.
Hilton HHonors has partnered up with ticket discounter ScoreBig. So, when you buy tickets—at a savings—to sporting events, concerts, and other activities, you can earn five bonus points per dollar.
Plus, they’ll give you 2,000 points on your first purchase.
Your prepackaged tour may also have perks you didn’t know about. Abercrombie & Kent has special packages for Ritz-Carlton Rewards members.
When you book those tours, you earn 2,500 hotel points….and then you can redeem those points back to Abercrombie & Kent for travel certificates!
Planning a big gathering, like a wedding or a party? Ask if the hotel will give you additional points for hosting your event.
For example, you can earn at least 60,000 Hyatt Gold Passport points if you spend $10,000 on a wedding.
Then, you guessed it, you can redeem those points for a two-night stay at another Hyatt hotel. Hello, honeymoon!
