Travel Tip: Where to Find the Best Holiday Light Displays

The holiday season is here, and that means there are big, beautiful and over-the-top holiday lights displays all around the country.
One of my favorites, year after year, is at Colonial Williamsburg. These guys are all about history, and the village showcases all sorts of fireworks, bonfires and candle lighting ceremonies. And it’s totally affordable. Hotel, breakfast and entrance into the village is only about $130 per person.
Over on the West Coast, it’s all about harbor lights. The Newport Beach/Balboa Island Boat Parade features more than 100 watercraft that are fully decked out for the holiday season. They’ll sail the harbor every evening for 5 days. Even hotels are getting into the holiday spirit.
The Biltmore Estate, in Asheville, North Carolina, is decorated with thousands of lights, and a whopping 56 trees. Every night there’s a candlelight tour of the old, historic mansion.
At the Venetian and The Palazzo, they’ve got a holiday celebration that lasts 49 days. That includes a nightly 3D light show and a 65-foot illuminated tree. Hey, no one does it bigger and better than Vegas, especially during the holiday season.
