Accessible & Affordable Cold-Weather Vacations

Temperatures have dropped, but on the East Coast you can find value and convenience this ski season. Peter joined the team at The Couch on CBS New York to reveal your cold-weather options in 2013.

Close to New York, you’ll find skiing, tubing and snowshoeing and a record-long zipline at Hunter Mountain. Farther north, both Mount Snow in Vermont and Mount Washington in New Hampshire offer winter deals and it’s not just skiing. At Mount Snow, you can actually go dog-sledding with Husky Works Mushing Company. For a more relaxing experience the Omni Mount Washington Resort has upscale cuisine, amenities and spa services. Lastly, if you’re willing to travel a bit more, you can take advantage of some affordable skiing option at Crested Butte in Colorado, which has a deal to ski three days and stay four nights at The Grand Lodge, starting at $699 per person.
