Travel Tip: Circus Schools

author: Charles J Sharp

Have you ever been to the circus and thought, I want to try that? Well, as it turns out, you can…even  while you’re on vacation.

Believe it or not, more and more circus schools are showing up at hotels and resorts. And the good news is, it’s not just for athletes and daredevils.

Take Club Med Ixtapa Pacific, where kids as young as 4 years old can learn to walk a tightrope, fly on a trapeze, or jump on a trampoline, and then show off their skills in a circus show.

Or you can learn to fly even closer to home, at the Club Med in Sandpiper Bay, Florida.

The Novotel Twin Waters Resort in Australia has flying trapeze workshops for about $70. Not convinced that you want to spend the cash? Try one swing for $15 and see how you like it.

Breezes all-inclusive resorts have circus programs in the Bahamas and Curacao, among others.

And you can even channel your inner PT Barnum in the South Pacific at the Turtle Bay Lodge in Vanuatu.

So if you’ve ever dreamed of running off with the circus, now you can. But instead of being under the big top, you’ll be right on the ocean.
