Travel Tip: Classic Cars

Locations in this article:  Rome, Italy

Listen up, car buffs. If you’re tired of just looking at classic cars and really want to get in on the action, here’s what’s happening out there.

Ever heard of Cruisin’ the Coast in Biloxi, Mississippi? This is an event where you really get to use your car. You cruise up and down a 26-mile beachfront area, and best of all, anyone can participate with a vehicle that’s 25 years or older.

And no, it doesn’t need to be in perfect condition. In fact, there’s even a competition of who can shoot the best flames from their exhaust pipes.

Don’t own a classic or antique car? No problem.  There’s one of my favorite experiences in Yosemite National Park. Forget about hiking…you can actually drive a 1920s Model T or a Model A through the park.

And if it’s even more adventure you’re looking for, why not tour Italy by classic car? Italy by Vintage car arranges trips along the Amalfi Coast, from Rome to Milan, and Tuscany in classic Alfa Romeos and Fiats.

In fact, some Italians might say this is the only way to drive the Italian countryside.
