Travel Tip: Trading Your Boarding Pass For Lift Tickets

If you can’t wait to hit the slopes when you arrive the mountain, guess what?

You may actually be able to trade in your boarding pass for a same-day lift ticket.

In Park City, Utah, the program is called Quick Start. Just print out the online voucher and show them your boarding pass, and you’ll get a lift ticket to one of three mountains: Park City, Deer Valley and The Canyons.

And Park City, for example, is only about 35 minutes from the airport, so if you arrive early, you can actually get in a full day of skiing.

In California’s Squaw Valley, you can trade in your boarding pass that lets ski anytime from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. that day.

And here’s one that really offers some value: At Mt. Rose in Lake Tahoe, the Happy Landings package means you can show your same-day boarding pass, and get a lift ticket not only for that day, but the next as well. Best of all, the mountain is only about 25 minutes from the airport.

So if you’re a die-hard skier on a budget, catch that early-morning flight and you get to hit those slopes … for free.
