Perfume Tours Make Scents

Before going to a store to buy over-priced perfumes, you may want to go straight to the source. Head to a factory where the perfumes are made, and you may even learn how to make a scent of your own!

The Russian Rose River Company located in Healdsburg, California offers a tour that invites participants to come and collect rose petals off Bulgarian rose plants.

Visitors can stuff the petals into copper distillation kettles, and watch the distillation process in real-time.

Longwood Gardens, located in the historic Brandywine Valley of Pennsylvania, has an entire exhibition on flowers used to make fragrances.

Not only will you learn how the process works, but you’ll also get to make one of your own.

The garden recently added more than 260 types of fragrant plants and flowers to its collection, so chances are you’ll find something you like.

The Perfume Factory on Grand Bahama Island sells a variety of scents for visitors to choose from.

Instead of purchasing a fragrance they’ve made, mix your own with the help of a guide, and be awarded a mixology certificate when you’re done.

After all, making your own perfume can be a great way to save dollars … and scents. In a lot of senses, they can make a lot of scents for you. Sorry for the puns…couldn’t resist on this one.
