Layoff Travel Insurance, Refunds in Case You Lose Your Job

If you’ve put your travel plans on hold due to layoff fears, think again. Some travel companies are relaxing their restrictions, even calling it “layoff insurance.”

JetBlue has a short-term refund plan for passengers who bought non-refundable plane tickets, but later lost their jobs.

Norwegian Cruise Lines launched its own program called “Book Safe Travel.”

It’s a protection plan that allows customers to get a refund of their cancellation fees after losing their job.

The catch here is that the customer must have been laid off from a company that they worked for at least one year.

And last, but certainly not least, cruise retailers CruiseOne and Cruises Inc. are offering the “Cruise Assurance Plan.”

Book a cruise right now with travel insurance and you can cancel up to the day of departure or even during your trip.

Is this all just a PR stunt?

In some ways, it is, but if you can benefit and get yourself out there and traveling, then it may just be a worthwhile deal.
