Travel Tip: Planning Excursions Before & After Your Cruise

cruiseWhen planning a cruise, it’s always a good idea to book a flight to arrive at least one day BEFORE the ship sails. Now cruise lines are making that part of the package.

The point of flying in early is to avoid, literally, missing the boat.

Most cruise lines will offer some sort of packaged rate for a hotel and transportation to the ship, and now we’re seeing these packages become a lot more enhanced.

Celebrity Cruises now has packages that include three nights in a hotel, airport and ship transfers, and guided city tours.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises always includes a one-night hotel stay before your cruise as part of your booking. They’ll also let you add more nights before or after your cruise for a discounted rate.

Even if you don’t book land excursions and packages with your cruise line, talk to the hotels directly.

Port cities WANT you to stay in town, so many hotels will offer deals like free breakfast, a shuttle to your ship, and free parking for the duration of your cruise.
