Travel Tip: How to Listen to Books When You Travel

Locations in this article:  London, England

kindleIf you’re like me, you love the experience of reading real books that you can hold in your hand. But, if you are like me, lugging around all that paper isn’t always practical when traveling.

If that’s the case—or you simply don’t like reading in a moving vehicle—audio books are the way to go.

Audible.com is a subscription service that gives you access to about 150,000 book titles…including just about every current bestseller on the list.

Did you know that a number of classic books are public domain? The website LibriVox and Project Gutenberg have audio versions of these books for free—everyone from Proust to Jack London.

No, you don’t have to dust off your CD player to listen to these books. Your iPod, Kindle, and smartphone all have the capability of playing these files through an app or directly as an MP3 file—even if you’re not connected to the Internet.

You can use a system like Filer or File Manager to keep MP3s organized and accessible, anywhere you travel.
