Travel Tip: Dr. Seuss & Other Characters on Cruises for Kids

cruises_for_kidsIf you’re looking for cruises for kids, it’s best to know the cruise lines that incorporate their favorite characters with travel.

Carnival Lines has just announced that Dr. Seuss will be coming aboard all 24 of its ships. The Seuss at Sea program will include Cat in the Hat themes, including a story time, outdoor movie screenings and a parade. And, of course, there is the requisite green eggs and ham breakfast.

Royal Caribbean partnered up with Dreamworks, with themed cruises based on Shrek, Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda and the new Turbo movie.

Norwegian Cruise Line has a similar partnership with Nickelodeon, which could mean breakfast with SpongeBob or a dance party with Dora the Explorer.

And Beaches resort properties in Turks & Caicos and Jamaica have Sesame Street themes, and they’re actually going for an educational spin. We’re talking birdwatching with Big Bird, recycling with Oscar the Grouch, and baking with Cookie Monster.

It may not be the most authentic way to travel, but hey, the kids will get something out of it and that’s just as important.
