Travel Tip: Where You Can Find Farm To Spa Treatments

pixie tangerinesYou’ve heard of farm-to-table dining, but what about farm to…spa table? That’s right, more and more spas are using native ingredients, so you can get a little local flavor in your treatment.

Come April, Pixie tangerines grow all over the Ojai Valley in California. Both the Oaks at Ojai and the Ojai Valley Inn and Spa offer treatments like Pixie tangerine scrubs and pedicures.

Eldorado Hotel & Spa in Santa Fe, New Mexico goes local with a chile and honey body wrap, and even a hot stone massage using native turquoise.

At The Cliff House Resort and Spa, Maine’s famous blueberries show up on the spa menu, along with Maine roses and juniper berries in body scrubs and oils.

From the category of you can’t make this stuff up, how about a spa treatment that incorporates local…beer?

The Lodge at Woodloch in the Poconos has an exfoliating treatment that uses hops and barley, inspired by the nearby Dogfish Head microbrewery.
