This year, there are more ways than ever to save on a trip to celebrate America’s independence. Hotels across the country are rolling out deals for all types of family-friendly vacations. Whether you want to see fireworks in New York, celebrate in Crested Butte, Colorado, or even take a hiking trip in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, there are unique deals you won’t want to miss. This July 4th, if you’re traveling to the Big Apple and are looking for an ideal place to stay without spending too much, the Grand Hyatt New York is offering specials from June 29 to July 5. Rates start at $199 for a stay next to Grand Central Station, making it convenient to get around. Along with the lower rates, there are two packages running on those dates as well. The Suite Deal promotion features luxury accommodations with 50 percent off an upgrade for a stay longer than two nights. The next package is the American Girl package, which includes a welcome letter for children, milk & cookies, an American Girl bed for their dolls, and a $25 gift card to the American Girl Place. Children under 5 will receive a free breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant and, for children between the ages 5-12, they will receive a 50 percent discount on their breakfast.
Andaz Wall Street, New York
If you want to stay in one of the prime viewing spots for the annual July 4th Fireworks in NYC, consider staying at the Andaz Wall Street, which is also offering a family package deal. The deal includes a 10 percent discount on accommodations, $100 food and beverage credit, and two Downtown Culture passes, which provide admission as well as discounts to more than 12 downtown attractions. Some attractions include the Statue of Liberty, Century 21, South Street Seaport, the 9/11 Memorial, and many more. This deal starts at $600 for two nights and is $225 for each additional night.
Located in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire, the Omni Mount Washington Resort is offering a weekend of celebrations for this holiday season. Starting July 3, the resort will have a mini concert series, barbecue, beverage tastings, and family activities. On July 4, there will be a Firecracker 5k Run or Walk, along with Firecracker Family Fun and the Annual Duck Race, which all include a pie eating contest and potato sack races. Later in the day there will be a Battle of Wettysburg that will take place in the resort’s pool, and it will involve a Civil War-themed balloon fight. Adults can also participate in a Brew Tasting and a party at The Cave, which is a prohibition-era speakeasy. Even though the holiday may have ended, the festivities run into the following day with more pool games, a martini bar, and a barbecue.
Chebeague Chebang, Maine
This year is the Chebeague Island Inn’s 4th Annual family festival, which will include live music, activities, drink specials, and plenty of food. The fireworks display will take place at dusk by Atlas, the same pyrotechnic company used by the Red Sox. Tickets are only $30 and can be purchased at Brown Paper Tickets.
The Omni Homestead Resort, Hot Springs, Virginia
The July 4th festivities will begin with family activities, like a balloon class, a music show with Roger Day, as well as family bingo on the resort. Later in the day, there will be an all-American cookout with live entertainment. The day will conclude with a fireworks show, which will take place at 9:30pm on Casino Lawn. If one firework show is not enough, the Inn is featuring its own firework show the day after the city’s firework display. Throughout the weekend there will be a taco stand open daily and, on the Fourth of July, there will be a Poolside Fireworks Show, complimentary beer and wine tasting, night glow golf, Disney character Meet & Greet, live entertainment, and a movie night featuring The LEGO Movie.
