Travel Tip: End of Season Ski Deals
It may feel like ski season has just begun but, in reality, a lot of resorts shut down around mid-April. So now is the time to look for end-of-season ski deals.
There’s nothing like skiing in warm, sunny weather—or so I hear. This is precisely why resorts in California are so popular in the spring.
Check out the Resort at Squaw Creek in Lake Tahoe. Its spring break deal is valid through April, and saves you $130 on your room, plus discounts on food and spa treatments.
The rest of your money can go to ski passes, which are usually discounted in April as the season winds down.
Crested Butte in Colorado has a limited-time deal IF you fly into their local airport. That gets you $100 airfare credit and 25 percent off your hotel and lift ticket.
Deer Valley Resort in Utah has spring skiing at summer rates: meaning you can get a room for about $165 per night and 25 percent off lift tickets.
But, let’s not forget that when the season is over here in the U.S., it’s just starting in the southern hemisphere. Ski Portillo in Chile has several weeks where kids ski for free between June and October.
