What’s the Fast-Growing & Cheapest Way to Travel in the US?

Bus InteriorCan you travel over 100 miles for prices as low as $1.50? Turns out. You can. The fastest growing segment of the travel industry is also the most affordable. In 2012, air travel increased by less than half a percent. Train travel grew 3 percent. But curbside buses (Megabus, Boltbus, etc.) grew a 30.6 percent.

Why? Buses offer convenience, free Wi-Fi and legroom. But the bottom line in the popularity of the has to be the price. This past weekend on The Travel Detective, Peter showed how buses fares compete of some of the most popular U.S. routes.
