3. Port Royal, Jamaica
Before the Golden age of Piracy in the early 18th century, Port Royal, nicknamed “The Sodom of the New World” served as a secret haven for pirates. The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise put this small pirate town back on the map in the 21st century, with a ringing endorsement from Jack Sparrow himself. If you come to this town be sure to explore the “underwater city” of Port Royal and check out some of the Pirates film’s sets that are still standing in Wallilabou Bay.
