Hotels That Help Sick Travelers

When you’re dealing with health problems, getting away can be a huge challenge. But the good news is more and more places are offering services and support for patients and survivors.

The Spa at Norwich Inn in Connecticut recently launched a spa menu in partnership with the ECHO Cancer Foundation.

Licensed therapists are trained in oncology massage, who can tailor each treatment to individual needs.

They take into account factors like what medications you may be taking, or if treatment has caused any sensitivity to touch or smell.

In Kennebunkport, Maine, Captain Lord Mansion launched the Dime for Time program, which pledges a dime for each guest who stays through October 31, and more for repeat guests.

In addition, breast cancer survivors can send in their stories for a chance to win a free weekend to celebrate this program.

And a company called Travel Toward Wellness offers healing getaways solely for cancer survivors and supporters.

Coming up this fall is a trip to Cavallo Point in Northern California, with a focus on wellness, nutrition and healing. Other trips include shopping in Tuscany, and a culinary tour of Santa Fe.
