Travel Tip: Watching TV & Movies On the Go

Pirates of the Caribbean movieSure, watching videos is an good way to pass the time on the road or in the air. And these days, technology is making it easier than ever to find what you want to watch … when you want to watch it.

You may have seen those InMotion Entertainment stores inside airports.

These guys rent out DVDs as well as portable devices to view them, which you can return in any store location.

Now they’re taking it an extra step and will sell digital movies and music from kiosks. You just plug in your memory stick or memory card, download the content, and it’s yours to enjoy on the road.

Another common sight these days are Redbox kiosks around convenience stores and supermarkets.

Just pick a movie and swipe your credit card, and when you’re done, you can return it to any Redbox kiosk.

Remember Blockbuster?

Well, Blockbuster Express just announced it’s going offer $2 new-releases at 7,000 kiosks around the country.

And last, but certainly not least, you may have heard of Slingbox, the device that allows you to watch shows from your TV on your computer, remotely.

Well, now you can use the SlingPlayer Mobile to watch programs from your TV on your mobile phone.

OK, so things are moving faster than some of us can keep up with, but at least it’s going in the right direction when it comes to entertainment.
