Most Expensive Family Vacations: Summer 2023

With inflation impacting everything from the cost of eggs to the price of your airline ticket, the latest research is out on the most expensive as well as the most affordable domestic destinations for families this summer.

The survey looked at things like average costs of round-trip airfare, hotel room rate, car rental, and meal costs.

The most expensive trip this summer is New York City, which comes in at $5,550 per family, for a week-long trip, and San Francisco is at $4,882.

And at number three is Orlando, Florida, at about $3,634, followed by Oklahoma City at about $3,272.

The most affordable family destination this summer is Toledo, Ohio, with an average trip costing $2,731.

Of course, with American, United and Delta no longer serving Toledo, you’ll probably be driving there.
