Congrats to this week’s winner, Carol Rosenthal!

Carol took this stunning shot from a lavender field in Provence, France during the Italy versus England European Football Championship game.

She shared her story:

We finished our dinner at a small cafe and headed out to the lavender field around 9 p.m. to pick a location and set up our gear. This took about an hour and our cameras were focused on the stars and programmed to take a shot every 30 seconds for about 90 minutes. You can’t start shooting until it is perfectly dark with the fullest of stars in the sky, which would be around 11:30 p.m. Get the picture? We are in for a long night, so we sat in the field with our snacks and our French champagne, our leader read stupid dad jokes off of his phone which were really, stupid funny as the night went on, and we watched the football game with an impressive iPhone picture. The only sound was the game, our nibbling on snacks, our laughter, and the clicking of the shutter every 30 seconds into the early morning hours. Congrats Italy! You were the heavy favorite in the lavender field. I hope you enjoy the star trails as much as I did creating it!
