Great Ghost Towns to Visit

With many travel restrictions being lifted, many of us are considering road trips, but we still want to avoid large gatherings of people.

So how about traveling to places where the population is zero? I’m talking ghost towns.

You might be surprised to learn that there are more than 3,800 ghost towns spread out across America. They have all the beauty and history but none of the crowds.

Just two and a half hours from Reno, Nevada — in Berlin-Ichthyosaur State Park — you can visit a 122-year-old ghost town. You can even camp there.

In the ghost town of Saint Elmo, Colorado — just three hours from Denver — you can book a room at the restored bed and breakfast right in the middle of town.

And two hours away from South Lake Tahoe in California, there’s a ghost town in Bodie Historic State Park. It’s a great day trip.
