It’s time for my travel rules for the summer.
The later you are for your flight, the further the gate.
The earlier you are, the closer the gate.
The newer the terminal, there are fewer people movers and the longer the walks. This is to satisfy airport vendors, who want you to be forced to stop at every store.
So time your airport visit accordingly.
But my favorite rule happens all too often for many travelers.
If you check in two bags simultaneously, the first bag comes off the conveyor belt first. And the second bag never comes.
My overall rule is there are two kinds of airline bags — carry-on and lost.
