You already know the drill. Every airplane is full this summer, and crowds at many airports are bigger than ever, which of course can mean longer lines.
So how soon should you get to the airport? It’s one thing to check in ahead of time online. But that’s not enough.
Until recently, many airlines imposed a 45 minute cutoff time to check bags.
My recommendation is to make it 90 minutes.
And for international passengers, make it two hours.
If you bought a basic economy ticket, some airlines won’t even let you check in online, which means you’ll be in line once you get to the airport.
