Have we reached the tipping point of travel this summer?

In the most recent survey of American travelers, 41% now say that rising gas prices will greatly impact their decision to travel in the next six months.

And 39% say they will travel much closer to home.

But many Americans will still do everything possible to travel. It’s all about reallocating where they spend their money — 34% of those surveyed said they would reduce spending and retail purchases, entertainment and recreation in order to keep their travel plans.

And 91% of American travelers are still indicating they’re planning to take a trip within the next six months, but that doesn’t mean they’re traveling with confidence.

Many travelers are citing risks of flight delays and cancellations.
