Most Weather-Delayed Airports: A New Ranking

When it comes to weather-related delays, it’s a fact that some airports are blessed, but many are cursed.

The latest rankings are out for the most weather-delayed U.S. airports. The research studied the total amount of weather delays, weather issues, cancelations, and more.

Chicago O’Hare is the third-worst as O’Hare averages 31,000 weather delays and over 2.3 million weather delay minutes a year.

Preceding O’Hare is San Francisco International Airport. The airport’s delays are the result of low clouds and fog leading to 265,958 flights being delayed.

The top spot goes to New Jersey’s Newark International Airport with only 68.9% of flights leaving on time and more than 3% of all flights being canceled.
