Most Livable Cities in 2021: A New Ranking

The Economist intelligence unit’s annual global liveability index has just been released  — rating 140 cities around the world based on stability, health care, culture and environment, education, and infrastructure.

Coming in at a tie for fourth — we have Wellington, New Zealand, and Tokyo, Japan.

Number three is Adelaide, Australia.

The second most liveable city in the world is Osaka, Japan.

And at number one, it’s Auckland, New Zealand.

Austria’s Vienna, which came in first in 2018 and 2019, has dropped out of the top 10 after being heavily affected by COVID-19, and now comes in at 12th place on the list.

As for the least livable cities, those are Damascus, Syria; Lagos, Nigeria; and Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.
