The Essentials

A New Ranking of Healthiest U.S. Cities

With so many of us now starting to travel again, one of the challenges remains nutrition, healthcare and recreational activities on the road.

So, if you’re picking your destination based on which might be healthiest you might want to consider cities like San Jose, California, which has great biking trails and parks.

Seattle gets high marks because of the great outdoor options in the mountains, on the water and in the forests.

San Francisco boasts many urban trails and parks as well as a farmers’ market which sells over 1,500 varieties of local produce.

Here’s a surprise.

Washington, D.C. gets its healthy rating largely in part to 80% of the population exercising at least once a week and the Capital Bikeshare program that provides 2,500 bikes for use throughout the city.

And the big winner is the Twin Cities in Minnesota for the availability and quality of its healthcare not to mention 12 farmers’ markets.
