Chances are you haven’t heard about the Global Sustainable Tourism Council — or GSTC. But this organization establishes and manages standards for sustainable travel and tourism. As you can imagine, it’s been busier than ever in the past 12 months, working on cruise ships and public health and environmental issues. And the criteria and metrics used by the GSTC are more relevant than ever — especially when it comes to cruising.
