Dogs Sniffing Out COVID-19 at Airports

The key to safe travel these days relies heavily on coronavirus testing, and two airports may be coming to the rescue.

The Dubai International Airport uses trained dogs to sniff out the virus on passengers.

The Helsinki Airport has also deployed these sniffer dogs as well.

Researchers say this method is almost 100% accurate. Right now, this method of testing is voluntary and optional, with passengers submitting a skin wipe sample for a dog to smell.

If positive, travelers are sent to a health information point at the airport for further instructions. Without rapid and reliable widespread testing, at least for the moment, man’s best friend may just become man’s lifesaver.
