Religious Sites With Less Crowds During Pandemic

You’ve probably heard of — maybe even visited such popular religious sites like the Sistine Chapel in Rome or Westminster Abbey in London, but in the era of social distancing, there are numerous important religious sites around the world that are not crowded.

In the northwestern part of Kyushu Island, in the Nagasaki region in Japan, there is a site where rebellious Christians built churches, villages, and a castle in order to practice their faith during a time of Christian prohibition.

In Prague, there’s the 19th century Spanish Synagogue, which was built atop the site of the oldest synagogue in Prague known as “Old School.”

And while Mecca is where many followers of Islam go for pilgrimage, the Great Mosque of Djenne in Mali, Africa is the largest mud-built structure in the world and has been reconstructed several times over the past centuries. So now’s time to plan ahead.
