Hawaii, Delaware and Texas: Beach Rules

5-27-2020

If you’re planning to travel this summer, you have a few options, but they come with strings attached.

Hawaii, Rehoboth Beach in Delaware, and Padre Island in Texas are three places you might consider.

But you should know that Hawaii is discouraging travelers from visiting until the end of June. It has a mandatory two week quarantine for anyone who arrives and have not opened their beaches beyond walking and running.

At Rehoboth Beach, benches are back on the boardwalk after being removed in April. Even though benches are back, facemasks are required on the beach and boardwalk. Similar to Hawaii, out-of-state visitors to Rehoboth Beach are required to quarantine for two-weeks after arriving.

And at Padre Island, the beaches are completely open, but no groups larger than five are allowed, shade structures must be 10 feet apart, masks are recommended and no activity that requires a ball or object is permitted. For the time being, every state and national park will have different restrictions and rules, so be sure to check first.
