How Some Airports Are Making It Easier For Accessibility

Airports are hard enough to navigate for most of us, but if you have a disability or mobility issue, it can be downright impossible.

But there is some good news.

Abu Dhabi International Airport in the Emirates now offers self-driving wheelchairs.

The airport in Boise, Idaho now offers virtual reality to help passengers with autism navigate the airport environment before they ever arrive.

And in Ireland, the airport in Cork wins the sensitivity award. It has introduced the sunflower lanyard, which allows passengers with hidden disabilities like epilepsy or acquired brain injuries to discreetly identify themselves to airport staff to receive extra support.

Now if only more airports would lower some ticket counter heights to make them wheelchair accessible.
